1. This website is operated by "The taste of Britain," "the company" and  "The Taste of Britain" The company is also referred to below as "us," "our" and "we." "You" and "your" and "customer" means the person who registers with our website and who orders from us.

3. The company reserves the right at its sole discretion to amend these terms and conditions at any time and to change any part of this website at its discretion and without notice.

4. These terms and conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

5. Our service is offered only to persons aged 18 years or over.

6. Your statutory rights are not affected.

7. We shall not be liable for any losses, financial or otherwise or for any problems arising from any cause beyond our control.

Use of website

8. Use of this site and any orders placed by you will constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions.

9. We cannot guarantee that our website wil be available at all times. In such circumstances we cannot accept responsibility for any loss, financial or otherwise.

10. Loss or damage caused by our website or email system through error or virus shall not be our responsibility and no compensation will be offered.

11. The Taste of Britain.com  its name, layout, design, any code, text, graphics and logos shall remain the property of the company and as such is protected by copyright and/or trademark.

12. All names and logos of products remain the property of their respective owners. Images of products are shown for illustration purposes only.

13. Any reproduction of material, in part or in full from our website is prohibited.

14. All product descriptions and prices are subject to alteration without notice but any alteration made will not affect orders already accepted by us.

15. All orders are subject to availability.

16. We reserve the right to refuse to supply any goods without prejudice or reason.

17. We may provide links to external websites. The company accepts no responsibilty for any use or content of such websites.

Delivery

18. All product weight calculations are based upon packaging information. Gross weight calculations for the purpose of calculating delivery costs are based upon product weight plus an allowance for product packaging and delivery packaging.

19. Delivery times are approximate and there shall be no liability on the company for late delivery.

20. It is the responsibilty of the customer to ensure that the delivery address and contact details are correct and to ensure that someone is available to accept deliveries. In addition, the customer is expected to comply with the couriers requests to make redeliveries where necessary. Failure to do so may result in the order being returned to the company, resulting in additional charges which will be passed onto the customer.

21. If an item ordered is unavailable for whatever reason the company will advise the customer. If an alternative cannot be supplied by mutual agreement then a refund of the value of the item wil be made.

22. We will accept cancellation of an order providing this is received in writing by the company within 12 hours of the order being placed. In such circumstances a full refund will be made.

23. No goods will be despatched until full payment has been received by the company.

24. Once goods are despatched all risk of the goods pass to you, the customer.

25. All goods remain the property of the company until full payment has been received by us.

Returns / Cancellation

26. Claims for shortages, damaged or packaging errors must be notified to the company within 24 hours of receipt of delivery.

27. No goods may be returned without the prior written consent of the company.

Refund Policy

Please remember that we shop to order for you and all refunds offered are on the basis that all orders placed are special orders.

28. If we cannot supply an ordered item or an agreed alternative then a full refund of the value of such item will be given. See condition 21 above.

29. We will accept cancellation of an order for a full refund providing this is received within 12 hours of the order being placed. See condition 22 above.

30. A full refund will be provided for goods charged and paid for but not supplied.

31. A full refund will be provided for faulty goods. In such circumstances we may require the item to be returned to us in the same condition as it was received.

Import Regulations

 32. The company will not be held responsible for parcels or goods opened, interfered with in any way or seized by customs officials. It is the responsibilty of customers to ensure that all goods ordered comply with all local customs regulations. Any penalties, financial or otherwise incurred as a result of failing to comply with this requirement is the responsibilty of the customer. We therefore strongly advise you to check local regulations prior to ordering to ensure compliance in this regard.

33. Local taxes and duties where imposed are payable by the customer on receipt of goods. Please check local customs offices.

Payment

34. All debit and credit card payments will be processed by paypal using their secure server. By using their websites you agree to their terms and conditions posted on their websites. We do not have access to your card details.

35. Cheque payments are accepted if drawn on UK bank acounts. Please send cheque via post and allow 5 days clearance once presented at our bank.

36. All transactions will be made in British Pounds Sterling using the conversion rates applied by our payment processors at the time of the transaction.

37. The currency converter on our website is for guidance only. The actual exchange ratewill be applied by our payment processors at the time of completing the transaction.

Privacy

38. We are committed to protecting your privacy. When you order goods with us we will use  your name, address and other information. This information is used by us to provide efficient processing of orders and internal record keeping. We may use your information for targeted marketing such as promotional emails, mailshots etc. We will NOT pass your details to any third party except that your contact number may be passed to our couriers for the purpose of easing delivery.

39. All data we hold about you is held under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998.

40. Cookies are used within the site simply to aid use of the shopping cart. These are eliminated when cleared or when a shopping session is closed down.
